European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumours - Adrenal Cancer Consortium (ENS@T-CANCER)

The European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumors (ENS@T) implemented a collection of adrenal tumor related databases and defined an associated network of Biological Resource Centers devoted to research on adrenal tumors. The concurrence of recent achievements of this evolving network, the progress in the understanding of molecular mechanisms and increasing availability of specific diagnostic and therapeutic tools for adrenal cancers provides the unique opportunity to achieve unmatched progress in the implementation of both translation and clinical research dedicated to pheochromocytoma, paraganglioma and adrenocortical carcinoma.

First randomized study of malignant progressive pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (FIRSTMAPPP)

The FIRST randomized study of Malignant Progressive Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma (FIRSTMAPPP) is an initiative by members of the Pheo-para alliance patient organization being carried out in cooperation with members of PRESSOR and of the European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumors - Adrenal Cancer (ENS@T-CANCER) consortium funded by the seventh framework program of the European Union. This collaborative effect between three organizations aims to initiate an international trial for treatment of malignant pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma. The trial is expected to be open for inclusion in the second half of 2011.
