The FIRSTMAPPP trial:

The FIRST randomized study of Malignant Progressive Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma (FIRSTMAPPP) is an initiative by members of the Pheo-Para Alliance patient organization being carried out in cooperation with members of PRESSOR and of ENS@T-CANCER - European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumours - Adrenal Cancer Consortium. This collaborative effect between three organizations aims to initiate an international trial for treatment of malignant pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma by the fall of 2010. The first meeting of the combined group was held in paris on December 12th-13th, 2008. This was followed by two further meetings, the second again in Paris in May 2009 and the third held in September 2009 in Parsippany, New Jersey in conjunction with the International Patient and Health Care Professional Conference on Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma. All details for this trial are set to be finalized during the third meeting to be held in Paris in the Spring of 2010.
